Demonstration Garden   

When the growing gets tough, don’t throw in the trowel — come visit the Covington Water District’s WaterWise Landscape Garden!  For some people, the word “gardening” conjures up images of sweating up a storm mowing a large lawn and then pulling endless weeds from the flower beds.  Meanwhile, others enjoy spending lots of time gardening, yet they wish their summer water bills weren’t so high. 

The Garden showcases WaterWise principles of gardening. Some areas never get water beyond what Nature provides, while other areas are watered up to twice monthly after newly installed plants become established.  You can stroll through and see, touch, smell and otherwise relate to a real live, water-efficient landscape while picking up ideas for your own yard.  A plant list is available at the garden for self-guided tours.
