Board of Commissioners


Pursuant to Governor Inslee’s Emergency Proclamation 20-28, in-person meetings are temporarily prohibited. Until restrictions are lifted, the Board of Commissioner meetings will be held remotely through Zoom.  Audio access information for the public will be on the agenda posted on BoardDocs:  Public Comments are restricted to written comments only and will be read during the meeting.   Please email your comments to Karen Smith at no later than 2:00 P.M. the day of the meeting.

Pursuant to RCW 42.30.080 YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the Covington Water District Board of Commissioners scheduled a Special Virtual Board Meeting for Thursday, October 1, 2020, beginning at 4:30 P.M.   The meeting will take place through Zoom and public access is located on the District’s BoardDocs site.  The purpose of the meeting is to review tentative agreements between Covington Water District and Oakpointe for the Covington LakePointe Development.

As a water district, we derive our authority from the Revised Code of Washington, Title 57. The CWD five member Board of Commissioners, elected by the customers, has limited power to set policy within the framework of the state statutes, city and county ordinances.

All actions of the Board take place in regularly scheduled open public meetings, which are held on the second Tuesday and fourth Tuesday of each month at District headquarters at 4:30 p.m., or at specially scheduled public meetings. Customers are invited and encouraged to attend. We are not regulated by the state utility and transportation commission, which regulates private and investor-owned utilities.
